Please forgive the stripped-down presentation. The frequency of essays here has declined in the last few weeks, but it's not for a lack of topics. I have developed a medical condition that had me more-or-less bed-ridden for a month and a half, and in so much pain that it is difficult to think clearly enough to write. Two days ago the situation turned acute, and I have been hospitalized. There will be surgery, and I am waiting on prognosis and a recovery timetable.
Worry only about getting better. Everyone will be here when you get well.
