I'm old enough to remember when the USA had a positive balance of trade. I remember that, as it went into negative numbers, we were told that it was a good thing. I remember thinking, 'what, are you crazy'? I remember NAFTA, and Ross Perot telling us there would be a 'giant sucking sound' of American jobs going to Mexico.
After all these years, I can only conclude that our experts are idiots.
Yep. Yep. Yep. I think they are gearing up for a restructuring. I have gold. I have crypto. I haven't trusted the dollar for a while now. We have to start manufacturing necessities (medication, war machines, food, shelter) in-house. We just do. The market has been over-producing for way too long so the slow down has to happen. It sucks because our money wasn't handled responsibly and people are still upset we have to cut. We cant pay the bills. I've never seen so many people just refuse to acknowledge the truth. Thanks much for sharing.
You were right about it being disturbing. I mean, I knew about a lot of the pieces, but having them all layed out and connected makes for a bit of a bummer of a read. I'm very curious to see what path will be chosen and by whom. I'm inclined to be skeptical that Trump & Musk at least, have no plan or at least not much of one. Maybe other heads in the inner circle can steer things, but maybe that won't matter if China decides it has its ducks in the row to put its plan into action sooner rather than later.

> the most disturbing article you’ll read this month.
Well, if you are someone who is following those developments there is nothing new there.
For just a couple of examples see https://treeofwoe.substack.com/p/running-on-empty-part-iv and https://cryptohayes.substack.com/p/trump-truth
> a factor that may have been even more important was President Carter’s agreement with Saudi Arabia to price oil exclusively in dollars
I thought it was mainly Kissinger under Nixon who engineered the system with the latter signing the initial agreement, not Carter.
